I love the Proclamation to the World on the Family. Twenty years after being delivered by President Gordon B. Hinckley in a General Relief Society Meeting, I cannot think of a single issue facing the family today that it does not address. Many of those issues were barely on society's radar twenty years ago and now they are center stage. For a powerful exercise, review the Proclamation and list those issues as they are addressed paragraph by paragraph, doctrine by doctrine. The foresight, relevance, and clarity of each sentence will pour out.
I assume more challenges to the family will arise in the future and I trust the Proclamation will address them as well. We believe there are prophets of God on the earth. I can't think of much stronger proof than this document. I love the Proclamation to the World on the Family.
